2022 National Poultry Show To Host Industry Open House
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - February 15, 2022, London, Ontario: The National Poultry Show, a 60+ year spring tradition for the Poultry Industry Council (PIC) and Western Fair Association (WFA) announces new dates: June 22nd – 23rd, 2022 for this coming year.
The event will transition to an Industry Open House, presented by the National Poultry Show, to allow flexibility for changes that may be required for on-going restrictions, such as an outdoor eating area in place of the popular indoor industry buffet lunch.
“We surveyed our exhibitors and attendees, and heard overwhelmingly that the April dates were not yet comfortable for folks, but June presented an opportunity to get together as an industry,” says Bridget Mahon, Agriculture Events Manager for WFA. “June show dates also allow for further flexibility to accommodate the vaccination centre still being housed in the Western Fair District Agriplex.”
What can producers expect at the Open House? Anticipate a strong B2B focus for the event, combined with education coffee-lounges, social connection with industry colleagues and new equipment and technology. Organizers are anticipating unique pieces of equipment coming from overseas, and are hopeful that extending the event dates to June allows for more flexibility with current supply chain concerns.
“The partnership between Western Fair Association and PIC has been incredibly supportive over the past two years as we evolved to meet the needs of the industry amidst the on-going pandemic,” says Ashley Honsberger, Executive Director for PIC. “We’re glad to offer the opportunity to get together, share knowledge and celebrate the industry, even if it’s a different format than usual.”
